PORTFOLIO OVERVIEW

HISTORICAL FARMHOUSE renovation and decorating

This 100-year-old farmhouse underwent a complete head-to-toe renovation. Teaming up with Home Star BC we painstakingly modernized the crumbling farmhouse while maintaining its original west coast charm. The only new addition to the home was the kitchen eating area, with its swinging dutch door, patterned cement tile and antique brass lighting fixture. The wood-clad walls throughout the home were made using the walls of the dilapidated barn on the property. Incorporating a classic equestrian aest ... Show More

WEST END APARTMENT renovation and decorating

Transforming this overly retro, beach front apartment was an act of true collaboration. The home owner, a bachelor with an eye for detail and no time for clutter worked alongside the Studio team choosing finishes that would help keep his Scandinavian renovation warm and inviting. Inspired by Whistler and modern West Coast design, the home was stripped of all its previously loved (now despised) finishes, wiping the slate clean for a more modern, functional space. Opening the spaces with clean sim ... Show More

LUXTON SQUARE new construction and decorating

Creating a home for resale can often pose challenges when it comes to creating a space that has equal parts personality and sell-ability. By incorporating West Coast architecture and Scandinavian minimalism, the Studio team created a stylistic foundation that, although subtle, definitely does not lack character. The six foot, white enamel ceiling fan partnered with the kitchen's custom-made, oversized stainless hood vent adds drama to the neutral palate of the home. Each of the home's five bath ... WEST VANCOUVER renovation and decorating

We worked with this retired couple to take their home on the cliff that overlooked Eagle Harbour, and modernize it while not losing its coastal vibe. The home was transformed through simple renovations and colourful, unique furniture and decor. No stone was left unturned, and the house turned out wonderfully. This home was the main feature in Style At Home's Spring edition.

YALETOWN PENTHOUSE decorating

Acting as a blank canvas, this compact Yaletown condo and its gutsy homeowners welcomed our kaleidoscopic creative vision and gave us free reign to funk up their otherwise drab pad. Colorless Ikea sofas and blank walls were traded for ultra luxe, Palm-Springs-inspired statement pieces. Wallpaper, painted pattern and foil treatments were used to give each of the tight spaces more 'larger-than-life' personality. In a city surrounded yearly with grey, rain-filled clouds and towers of glass, the ove ... Show More

CAMPBELL VALLEY renovation and decorating

What began as an original 70s home was remodelled into a modern pool house with an equestrian twist. After gutting the house down to the original studs and removing needless walls, we changed the layout, added beams, replaced all finishes and fully furnished the home as the pictures indicate. The kitchen transformed from small and cramped to spacious and wide open. In the end, no part of the home was not rebuilt, and the clients moved into their 'new' home thrilled at the change.

GASTOWN LOFT decorating

A restored heritage building on the water in Vancouver that went from a clean, blank slate to a travellers wonderland. Nearly everything in this loft was found while travelling to over 30 countries on every continent for the past 10 years. Carefully curated, this Gastown loft is the perfect representation of a modern eclectic style.

RIVERSIDE new construction

This Riverside home was built and designed with a classic East Coast inspired foundation, borrowing from the past while remaining in the much needed, functional future. With the family of six and their several beloved furry creatures in mind, the home was designed so its form would always parallel its function. We used classic pallets instead of trendy grey tones to keep the home timeless. The home's kitchen being the crowning jewel and perfect example of the power of classic black and white. Th ... CULTAS LAKE decorating

What was once a tired lakeside bungalow filled with peeling wallpaper and shag carpet now stands out in the otherwise rustic neighborhood as a modern eclectic oasis. Situated in the quaint town of Cultus Lake, the cabin was fully renovated and refurbished by the home owners and decorated by the Plaidfox Studio team. The team was given the challenge of completing the project and injecting personality and life into the otherwise minimal, undecorated architecture. Elements such as wallpaper, salvag ... Show More

Throughout the home, we mixed mid century, eclectic, and modern components to keep everyone guessing what's around the next corner. This is a project that is within reach for many who don't want to renovate their home, but sti ... Show More

JERICHO BEACH decorating

Time was one luxury this home owner did not have. In this quick but effective decorating project, the Studio team worked to create a space that was livable and fun for a newly moved young family. With busy schedules and an active lifestyle, the process was left very much up to the Studio team to create what the home owners' wanted - a beach bungalow with character. With the short time window as an added challenge, the team managed to create a space that was not generic or soulless, making sure e ... Show More

MERIDIAN FARM MARKET renovation

The Tswassen Meridian location is just one of the seven Meridian Farm Markets that we've done for this great company. To be true to the company's brand, we had to come up with a look and feel that was as friendly and inviting as the company's culture. Custom-made wood-chip walls, historical photographs from the local area, hand-painted signs and more adorn the entire store giving an element of local authenticity for the area's shoppers. What used to be a run-down electronics store has now transf ... Show More

Chandler Arizona Remodel

This dessert rancher in Chandler, Arizona is used as a Canadian company's getaway house for their management team and key clientele. With the home used every few weeks by different people, the design had to be unique and immediately communicate to everyone who entered that they were not in Canada anymore. While dessert homes typically are filled with more muted tones, we incorporated bright blues and greens throughout with unique accent pieces and fun patterns on the drapes and bedding.
